Okay, here's the deal. To qualify for membership you have to meet three criteria:
1. Be smart.
2. Be an ass.
3. Be online.
By virtue of the fact you are reading this you have already met the third criteria, wasn't that easy? We've also decided to remove one of the hoops prospective members were once required to jump through: The Infamous SAO Membership Application. Instead we now give new members a baptême du feu... you may skip the application process and sign-up for a forum account and then introduce yourself in the New Members topic. Just to be clear, your goal is to be ACCEPTED, not to insult everyone you meet.
As a rule, smartasses don't prey on their own kind, much the way that lions generally don't eat other lions, not when there are plenty of tasty gazelle roaming the plains. Likewise, we enjoy poking fun at dumbasses, of which there is no shortage of in this world (and especially on the Internet, which sometimes seems like one large dumbass magnet). So when you introduce yourself in our forum know that you are among kindred spirits, people who understand your pain when you tell them what an incredibility dumbass thing your boss/employee/teacher/relative (etc.) just did. Believe me, we've all been there and that's why we started this tiny oasis of sanity in a sea of stupidity. And if you should happen to not fit in... don't worry, chances are someone will be telling a story about you in the not too distant future (but we hope that won't be the case).
So if you are ready and in a smartass mood, register for a forum account and one of our moderators should approve your request within the next 24 hours (probably less, we know you can hardly wait to get started). Once you receive an e-mail informing you that the account has been activated, enter the forum and introduce yourself. Keep in mind that first impressions are lasting impressions, so try to put your best foot forward, as opposed to in your mouth. We are generally a friendly group who will welcome new members with open arms, and we certainly don't mind a little good natured teasing (we give as good as we get).
